TESTIMONIALS

“What I appreciate about working with you: You are professional and deeply committed to your work. You are extremely reliable and are available whenever we need to deal with a problem or talk about strategy and steps needed to bring about the best chance of success. In fact you have gone out of your way to help Aidan, even in the middle of the night or on weekends. We also greatly appreciate you helping us navigate a complicated and emotionally charged situation--you have helped us to maintain our mental health as well. One other thing: we have noticed, and appreciate, how you openly disclose your own story to help us, including Aidan, understand the nature of drug addiction. Kathy and I are recovering alcoholics exclusively, and didn't understand some of the additional complexities with this kind of addiction prior to meeting you. Beyond the addiction piece, you also put a lot of effort into helping Aidan look for a job and register for college, and we appreciate it greatly, especially given how you had to overcome a lot of resistance and lack of motivation on his part in these areas. Now that I'm thinking about the things you have done and the amount of time and effort you have put into our family, I'm pretty amazed with how much you have done for us all. You go out of your way to explore different treatment options. We are both grateful for helping us get Aidan to the wilderness therapy program (and SUPER grateful you were willing to fly him out there). We are also grateful that you steered us in the direction of the therapeutic boarding school and different sober living facilities. You are kind, but firm. Aidan is someone who needs a soft touch sometimes, and other times a very direct approach. I feel that you did a good job in deciding which approach to take in different situations. Overall, you conduct yourself in a kind and caring manner--it is obvious to us that you truly care, and that you put a lot of your time and energy into trying to help Aidan choose a sober life. Finally, I appreciate the fact that you have advised us to take care of ourselves. Dealing with an addicted child has been a very difficult and emotionally draining experience. It has been all too easy to lose ourselves in Aidan's disease. We are just learning how to take better care of ourselves--better late than never. Thank you for all that you have done (and are doing) for us. We couldn't have made it without you!”

“I really enjoyed working with you bro. You taught me hella and helped me build habits I've carried through today. I've learned a lot about how to plan for the future in a healthy, realistic way, and how to use past experiences as examples of perseverance. I appreciate you bro and I don't know where I would be in life without you. You've been big bro through all the struggles, and I've made more progress in the time I've known you than all the time I've spent aimlessly in treatment centers and hospitals. You've treated me like the person I've never thought I could become, and you've made me a better man.”

“Crazy positive, always uplifting and kind. Trey is the homie, and encouraged me (and probably many other kids) to fix personal issues and encouraged me to begin the steps in fixing complex relationships in my family. Never was he unwilling or unhappy to do/doing his job and always showed commitment to me (and prob other kids) and his job. 10/10”

“When you see your child slipping away and you’ve tried everything as a parent but the stressors of life and their own inner turmoil is prevailing, please reach out to someone to help you find another path. Trey was one of those people for me and my family. He is an amazing human and talented youth mentor. Trey has a special gift because he has walked the walk and that’s what makes him able to talk the talk and get through, where you often cannot as a parent. His help, knowledge, passion and dedication was instrumental during a very difficult time. It does get better and will, with Trey right there with you!”

“I once was someone who was a victim of self sabotage. I would not believe in myself, procrastinate on reaching my goals, and have bad social anxiety when it came to certain crowds. It wasn’t until I met Trey Herlitz-Ferguson at the age of 21 that I was able to start coping with it all. Not only was he a great example, a life coach, and a purposeful mentor, he became a friend that I am glad to call my brother.”

“Trey is the closest thing I have to a brother. He came to see me in North Carolina when I was struggling. A solid guy who really cares.”

“I really enjoy my work with Trey a lot. What I find helpful is that at anytime I can call trey and talk to him. I feel that my work with him is very productive i am doing way better in life now then i was before we started working together. I was very easy to get angry before, but after talking with trey I have learned new way to cope with my negative emotions, and have found peace. I am also now headed to play division 1 football with a full scholarship.”

“Before I contacted Trey, my 16-year-old son, had gone from a talented, thriving kid to spiraling out of control from anxiety, depression and substance abuse. We had tried everything we could think of: emergency psychiatric treatment, a mental hospital, intensive out-patient programs and residential treatment. Nothing was working to help our son get better. Thankfully, someone gave us Trey’s number, and it turned out to be the turning point in our son’s recovery. He immediately felt comfortable with Trey and easily shared his struggles with him. With his kind and positive nature, Trey became a support to our entire family. He was able to see that our son was going to need a different kind of intervention than what we had done before in order to get on a path of recovery…We have never seen our son doing this well both emotionally and physically. We are so grateful that we met Trey!”

“It was honestly cool working with Trey. I noticed how giving and kind he is, how for him this is more than work, I didn’t even see it as a work type of thing, it was more like having a good friend, Two times he gave me free pairs of shoes for no reason, just out of kindness while i was training for boxing. Another thing I noticed is that he doesn’t judge people, he just wants them to be happy. He never tries to put people down with discipline, instead he just tries to bring them up however it may work out. He was always calm and never abrasive and always respectful towards my opinion. When we would go to the gym half of the people there were his friend, which shows how kind and outgoing his personality is. He definitely  helped me navigate my path but I was more impressed by his humanity.”
